Financial Supermarkets, Inc. (FSI) is proud to announce Danielle Reddington, Loan Service Representative at Service Credit Union, as the 2025 recipient of the prestigious Wingate Veteran of Distinction Award.
Named in honor of FSI founder J. Alton Wingate, this annual award recognizes individuals within the FSI community who have demonstrated exemplary military service, exceptional leadership, and ongoing contributions to the financial services industry and their local communities. Reddington joins the distinguished ranks of past recipients, including 2024 honoree Richard Edwards and 2023 inaugural recipient Roy Bell, FSI’s President & CEO.
A United States Air Force veteran, Danielle served ten years on active duty from December 1989 to December 1999, during which she was stationed across the globe, including Germany, Iceland, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. Her deployments in support of Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom earned her the designation of Gulf War Veteran. Her honorable service reflects the courage and discipline that continue to define her character today.
Following her military service, Danielle has remained steadfast in her commitment to veterans and the greater community. Her work with Vouchers for Veterans, a nonprofit distributing over $125,000 in produce vouchers to veterans across Maine and New Hampshire in 2023 alone, earned her the President’s Volunteer Service Award for contributing 112.5 hours of volunteer service last year. Danielle is also a long-time volunteer with the Rochester Fellowship Kitchen, where she has served meals for over two decades, including major holiday dinners.
Danielle’s civic engagement doesn’t stop there. She has been instrumental in initiatives like the “Stay Warm” campaign, distributing 7,000 care packages across the state, and regularly volunteers at community events such as local Shred Days and the annual air show at Pease Air Force Base, where she represents Service Credit Union with professionalism and pride.
Within Service Credit Union, Danielle exemplifies the values of leadership, collaboration, and innovation. She participates in the institution’s Think Tank initiative, contributing forward-thinking ideas to enhance member engagement and financial well-being. She pioneered a “Financial Wellness Checkup” program designed to help members maximize their financial benefits and take a proactive role in their fiscal health. Her efforts have drawn more than 75 notes of appreciation this year alone from members and colleagues alike.
In her role, Danielle also supports staff development by leading one-on-one loan training sessions and strengthening relationships with regional auto dealers—demonstrating her holistic commitment to excellence in service.
“Danielle Reddington is a shining example of what this award was created to celebrate,” said Roy Bell, President of FSI. “Her courage in service, her unwavering dedication to veterans and her community, and her inspiring leadership within Service Credit Union make her truly deserving of the 2025 Wingate Veteran of Distinction Award.”
Danielle’s colleagues at Service Credit Union- Kim, Matt, Jennah, Meghan, and Jenn – shared the following heartfelt message in honor of her recognition, “Your hard work and dedication have always stood out, and it’s so rewarding to see that recognized. You consistently go above and beyond, treating every member and teammate with care and respect. You’re the kind of person others look up to—not just for what you do, but for how you do it. We feel truly lucky to have worked with you and to have been a part of your journey here at Service Credit Union. Watching your growth and impact has been inspiring. You deserve every bit of this recognition!”
The award was formally presented by FSI’s Vice President and Senior Consultant, Amy Miller, during a special ceremony at Service Credit Union in late April. A video of the presentation was later shared at the 2025 National Retail Banking Conference, where FSI honors individuals whose lives reflect the values of service, leadership, and community impact cherished by J. Alton Wingate.
Nominations for the J. Alton Wingate Veteran of Distinction Award are accepted annually at supermarketbank.com. FSI invites all member institutions to recognize deserving individuals who reflect the spirit of this honor.
