Alton Wingate, Sr., revolutionized retail banking and opened the first Supermarket Bank^® in Cornelia, Georgia for Community Bank & Trust inside an Ingles Supermarket; shortly thereafter, FSI became the first company to license the in-store banking concept by the trademark, The Supermarket Bank^®. FSI has since become the preeminent leader and consultant in this expanding and ever-changing segment.

Market Contractors, Ltd., an Oregon Corporation, acquired Financial Supermarkets, Inc. on
March 4, 2010 adding to our rich history of innovative companies. Market Contractors is a national general contractor based in Portland, Oregon, with over 40 years experience specializing in financial, retail, and healthcare design and construction.

An extensive list of national projects has lead to the growth of the employee-owned company and reflects its dedication to deliver exceptional products and services to their customers. Financial Supermarkets continues its 40+ year history as the pioneer in the supermarket banking industry and is considered one of the premier providers of retail bank branches in the nation.
