Lanier FCU Case Study

Project Type: New Build
Branch Format: In-Line / Storefront
Location: Jefferson, Georgia
Planned Timeline: 8 weeks
Actual Timeline: 6.5 weeks
Delivery Model: Design-Build

Client Objective

Lanier Federal Credit Union initiated this project as part of a strategic Field of Membership (FOM) expansion into Jackson County, GA. While the credit union already served a strong member base in the area, it lacked a full-service branch to support them locally.

The goal was to establish a modern, accessible branch that would:

  • Provide comprehensive in-person banking services
  • Strengthen presence in a high-growth market
  • Support both existing members and new member acquisition
  • Serve as a scalable model for future expansion

The Challenge

To capitalize on market opportunity, the credit union required a branch delivered on an accelerated schedule without compromising quality or operational readiness.

Key considerations included:

  • Aggressive construction timeline
  • Coordination with local permitting and inspection authorities
  • Maintaining momentum through approvals and municipal processes
  • Delivering a turnkey branch ready for immediate operation

Through proactive coordination and strong project management, approvals and inspections were completed efficiently — keeping the project moving forward without delays.

The FSI Approach

As Lanier Federal Credit Union’s first project with FSI, collaboration was centered on understanding the organization’s brand, service goals, and long-term growth strategy.

FSI delivered a comprehensive solution that included:

  • Design concepts aligned with the credit union’s identity and expectations
  • A flexible layout sized for current membership with capacity for growth
  • End-to-end project management
  • Close coordination with local officials to streamline approvals
  • Efficient construction planning to compress the timeline

The result was a branch that not only met immediate needs but also positioned the credit union for sustained expansion in the region.
